Why do you need industrial-grade memory cards instead of their cheaper consumer-grade counterparts?

Industrial-grade cards are made to endure severe operating conditions such as high impact, continuous vibration, low  and/or high operating temperature. These cards are durable and can last intensive reads/writes. Certain cards are even made to be moisture-resistant. Although we also supply consumer-grade CF cards, they are not as durable. For most of the industrial applications which normally require intensive I/O cycles, the consumer-grade cards tend to fail prematurely.

The following WR series Industrial Grade Rugged Metal CompactFlash Cards, from 16MB up to 8GB (uses 3S controller, 150x speed) and 16GB (uses SMI controller, 300x speed), are RoHS-compliant. They are built with the high-end ATA Flash controller and mainly  Samsung Industrial-Grade SLC NAND Type Flash memory chips.  The inside of WRCF series cards have an optional coating of MIL-I -46058C conforming silicone, which is designed to endure against static electricity, moisture, dust and atmospheric contaminants. Not all IDE sockets can support UDMA mode. To be compatible with older IDE sockets, PIO mode is set as default for PSI-APRO CF cards to support up to PIO-4 speed. If you are sure your socket can support the UDMA mode and your application requires up to UDMA-4 speed, please choose the correct part # accordingly!

II. SP-Series Commercial-Grade RoHS Plastic-Casing Compact Flash Cards:  

These high-speed commercial-grade CF cards below are shock and vibration-tolerant and can withstand extreme conditions.

Operating Temperature: 0 ~ +70 degree C for standard commercial temp cards. 
Vibration: 15G peak-to-peak; Shock: 1500G. Meets MIL-STD 810F standards.
Supports: either PIO 4 mode (16.6 MB/sec, 45x) or UDMA (66.6 MB/sec, 150x) and wear-leveling.

C-1 Technology High-Capacity Industrial Grade Compact Flash Cards:

Note: For the mode operation, C1' CF card starts with the default of UDMA mode. If the system can only support PIO-mode, card will automatically switch to PIO-mode. If the system can support both and prefer to run PIO-mode, we have to make the change on default to PIO-mode at the factory.
